Finchley Secure Bonus Point Victory in Dominant Display Against Ruislip

The opening stages of the match saw both sides enjoy periods of good possession, but it was Finchley who broke the deadlock in the 15th minute. Sam Green collected the ball on the left wing, exchanged passes inside, and finished the move with a well-taken try. Inigo calmly added the conversion to give Finchley an early 7-0 lead.

Just eight minutes later, Finchley capitalised on a penalty with the forwards driving over the line, allowing Paul Nevin to touch down. Once again, Inigo's boot was reliable, making it 14-0.
Finchley's dominance continued as Hugo's incisive work from Ruislip's 22-metre line set up a third try, though the conversion was missed, extending the lead to 19-0.

With momentum firmly in Finchley`s favour they began to control the game. A brilliant break initiated by Ben O`Donoghue from halfway saw Jamie Lloyd-Williams link up beautifully with Eoin Byrne, the eventual Man of the Match, who crossed for the bonus-point try. Inigo added the extras, taking the halftime score to 26-0.

Second Half

Ruislip responded early in the second half and found a way onto the scoreboard in the 52nd minute when Samir Menia powered over for a try, converted by Matt Jury to reduce the deficit to 26-7. Finchley quickly responded, applying pressure which culminated in an unconverted try following a scrum, restoring a comfortable 31-7 lead.

Both teams had opportunities but struggled to convert them until the 75th minute when Finchley’s Ben O’Donoghue made a dazzling solo run, evading multiple tackles to score on the right flank. Inigo's successful conversion pushed the score to 36-7.

Ruislip hit back immediately from the restart, with Raffi Chinnick crossing for an unconverted try to make it 36-12.
However, Finchley had the final say in the dying moments of the match. A clever grubber kick from Dom Goring set up Finn Sharp, who finished expertly in the right corner. Inigo, once again, added the conversion, sealing a 41-12 full-time scoreline.

Final Thoughts
Finchley’s supporters were thrilled with the team’s dominant performance, as they secured a bonus-point win that maintains their strong start to the season.
