As part of our centenary celebrations, Finchley RFC was honoured to be chosen by the RFU to provide 24 volunteers (aged 18+) for a special role during last Saturday’s England vs France Six Nations match.

The volunteers had the incredible opportunity to participate in the on-pitch banner presentations, holding the flags and banners as both teams lined up for the national anthems. Standing on the hallowed turf of Twickenham Stadium, surrounded by 80,000 roaring fans and the players themselves, it was a moment our volunteers will never forget.

The atmosphere was electric, and the experience was a testament to the pride and passion that rugby brings to our community. It was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of such a prestigious event, and it perfectly encapsulated the spirit of our centenary season.

A huge thank you to the RFU for giving Finchley RFC this incredible opportunity and to our volunteers who work so hard every week to bring so much fun and enjoyment on the field and make the club such a success. It is moments like these that remind us why we love this game and the community it builds. Here’s to the next 100 years of Finchley RFC!
